This module was designed for use in a portable musical instrument amplifier. It combines an off-line SMPS with a full-range Class-D amplifier. The SMPS utilizes an open-loop hard-switched half-bridge topology for good efficiency and dynamic headroom. The amplifier is a clocked full-bridge topology for good linearity and low noise.
